William C. Rorick has studied drawing, painting, and sculpture at the New York Academy of Art, the Arts Students League, the National Academy of Design, the School of Visual Arts, the Lyme Academy and elsewhere. His teachers have included Michael Aviano, Ellie Bender, Bob Boroski, Jon deMartin, and Daniel E. Greene, among others.   Mr. Rorick enjoys working in oil, pastel and drawing mediums to capture the likeness and essence of his subjects.  His portraits hang in public and private collections across the United States.   He is currently working on a series of oil portraits of famous composers and other historical figures of the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the advice and assistance of well-known portrait artist Paul W. McCormack.  He has won numerous awards, including Best in Show, in local, regional and national art shows. He is a member of the Portrait Society of America, the Portrait Society of Atlanta, the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, and many other art organizations. Mr. Rorick teaches portrait painting and coordinates a portrait sketch group in his studio as part of the activities of the Portrait Club of Greater Southbury, which is affiliated with John Howard Sanden’s Portrait Clubs of America.  Additionally, Mr. Rorick is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Art, and other biographical sources. In 2021, Mr. Rorick was awarded the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor reserved by the Marquis Who's Who Publications Board "for Marquis Biographees who have achieved career longevity and demonstrated unwavering excellence in their chosen fields".
